With the Minot High Magicians’ loss to the Mandan Braves on Friday night, October 16, the Magi football team has just one more game left to secure a win in the 2026 regular season..
The Magi struck first with a 23 yard run by senior running back Jalen Gunville in the first quarter, but they were unable to secure the extra point.
After the Braves secured their first touchdown of the game late in the first quarter with the extra point, Mandan took the lead and never gave it back.
Though the Magi briefly tied the game half way into the second quarter at 14-14, the Braves quickly ran away with the game, leading 28-14 at half time.
From then on, The Braves stayed two steps ahead of the Magi, eventually closing the game out with a 43-36 win over Minot.
Minot’s loss on Friday night dropped them to a record of 0-8 on the season.
The Magi have just one more chance to save themselves from a winless season. That chance will come on Thursday night, October 22, as the Magicians face the Williston Coyotes at home.
