Magi fall to Sabers, still in search of first win

The Minot High Magicians were bested by the Legacy High School Sabers on Friday night, October 2, as they enter their final month of the regular season still without a win.
The Sabers were only Minot’s second WDA opponent so far this season, but they have just three more game of conference play to secure a win before the post season begins.
The Magi got the ball rolling, punching in the first points of the game with just ten seconds left in the first quarter.
Junior quarterback Ryder Sutton completed a 51 yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Tariq Bell to put six points on the board.
The Legacy Sabers scored two unanswered touchdowns in the second half, bringing the score up to 13-7 at half time.
The Sabers kept their first half momentum heading into the third quarter, scoring their third touchdown of the game and bringing their lead to 20-7.
Sutton and Bell scored their second touchdown of the game for the Magicians soon after with an eight yard pass to make it a one touchdown game.
The Sabers scored once more before the end of the third quarter, and scored again early in the fourth quarter, bringing their lead up to 27-14 over the Magi.
With less than half of the fourth quarter remaining, Sutton threw a 31 yard touchdown pass to junior wide receiver Korbin Kraft for the Magicians’ final touchdown of the game.
Legacy scored once more before the end of the game, bringing their lead to 34-21 over the Magi as the fourth quarter drew to an end.
With the Magi’s loss on Friday night, they fell to a record of 0-6 on the season and 0-2 in WDA play.
The Magicians still have three more game to snag a win before the end of the regular season.
They will next face off against the Century High School Patriots at home on Friday, October 9.
