The 2026 NDHSAA Division A Football State Playoffs kick off on Saturday, October 24, with the first round of games, ultimately leading up to the Dakota Bowl held in Fargo on Friday, November 13.

After a winning regular season, dropping just one game against Ray/Powers Lake in early September, the Bishop Ryan-Our Redeemer’s Lions enter the post season as the third-seeded team in Division A football.

The Lions will be facing off against the unseeded Central McLean Cougars at home for the first round of the tournament.

The Lions and the Cougars will meet at Herb Parker Stadium in Minot for their match, with kick off scheduled for 2 p.m.

The winner of their game will advance to the tournament quarterfinals to face off against the winner of the Rugby Panthers/Northern Cass game.

The Velva-Drake-Anamoose-Garrison Aggies will also get their start for the State Tournament on Saturday, facing off against the unseeded Dickinson Trinity High School Titans.

The Aggies enter the State Tournament as the fifth seed, having finished the regular season with a near undefeated 8-1 record, losing only to the Bishop Ryan-Our Redeemer’s Lions during their match in early October.

The Aggies and the Titans will be the first teams to play in the first round of the State Tournament, with the Aggies hosting the Titans at Velva High School, with kick off scheduled for 1 p.m.

If the Aggies succeed against the Titans, they will advance to the State Quarterfinals, where they will face off against the winner of the winner of the Langdon Area-Munich/Oakes High School game.

The State Quarterfinals will be held on Saturday, October 31.
