After a close home game loss to the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons last Saturday, October 3, the beavers are heading back on the road to take on the University of Jamestown Jimmies.

This season is the Jimmies’ first with a full-fledged active NCAA Division II membership. After Jamestown completed the NCAA’s expedited provisional membership process, the Jimmies became a full eligible member of the NSIC and is able to complete in the conference’s post season.

Last season was the first time the Beavers and the Jimmies had played each other since 2010.

The Beavers beat the Jimmies in a close 35-28 game that ended with a seven yard run to win the game with less than two minutes left on the clock.

This season, the Beavers are in a good spot to defeat Jamestown for the second year in a row.

Minot State has been strong on both sides of the ball this season, sitting almost on par with their total points scored at this same point in the season last year. The Beavers have earned a cumulative 139 points over six games this season as compared to their 135 points last season after their first six games.

The Jimmies have had a tough time getting their bearings this season as newly eligible members of the NSIC.

The Jimmies are still without a win so far this season and have been shut out by two teams in early September. The Jimmies have earned just 56 points at this point in the season.

The Beavers will look to earn their second win of the season this Saturday, October 10, in Jamestown.
