The Minot North Sentinels boys tennis team earned their first conference win of the season in their victory over the Legacy High School Sabers at home on Tuesday, September 8.Prior to Tuesday afternoon’s match the Sentinels had been in a three match slump, with this last loss being against the Minot High Magicians in a 3-6 finish.

And though the Sentinels were 4-4 on the season, they had still yet to win a conference match.

The Sentinels were finally able to end their three game skid on Tuesday, defeating the Legacy High School Sabers in a nail-biting 5-4 win. With their victory over Legacy, the Sentinels also earned their first WDA opponents.

The Legacy Sabers are currently ranked third in the WDA, behind the still undefeated Mandan Braves and Minot High Magicians.

The Sentinels’ record on the season improved to a winning 5-4 and their conference record improved to 1-2.

The Sentinels boys tennis team will head back on the road for their next few competitions, next taking on Valley City High School in non-conference play.
