Minot State soccer shut out by St. Cloud State

The Minot State women’s soccer team traveled to Husky Stadium on Sunday, September 13, for their latest match as they took on the St. Cloud State Huskies.
The last two games before this past Sunday’s were both single goals game, with the Beavers’ game against the Huskies ending much the same.
St. Cloud scored the first and only goal of the game against the Beavers’ goal keeper Rebecca Sargent just one minute 39 seconds into the game.
Both teams played strong defense through the rest of the match, with Sargent finishing out the match with five total saves for the Beavers before the final whistle.
“Giving up a goal 1 minute into the game is never ideal, but I’m proud of the team for how we reacted after. A lot of positives to take from this weekend. Our team is gritty, and we worked our tails off. Disappointed to not come away with any points this weekend but we are ready to get back to the training ground Tuesday and continue progressing as a group.” head coach Adam Daley said.
The Beavers registered seven shots through both halves of play in the loss, with three of them registering as shots on goal.
Sunday’s loss put the Beavers on to a record of 1-4 on the season and 0-2 in conference play.
The Beavers women’s soccer team will return to Herb Parker Stadium for their second home game of the season next, as they take on Winona State University this Friday, September 18.
