Beavers football readies for Homecoming weekend

After three weeks of play on the gridiron, the Minot State Beavers football team have had their second highest scoring start to their season in the last five years.
Still on the lookout for their first win this season, the Beavers will have the chance to showcase their skill sat home this coming weekend, as the Beavers are set to take on Southwest Minnesota State University on Saturday, September 19, for their Homecoming weekend.
The Beavers have faced off against the Southwest Minnesota State just seven times since 2013, and historically, the Beavers have struggled to overcome the Mustangs’ defense.
The Beavers are 1-6 against the Mustangs over the years, often times just one touchdown behind their opponents, but last year, the Beavers took their first win against Southwest Minnesota State 42-9.
The Beavers defense secured four of the team’s touchdowns during their last game against the Mustangs in 2024, taking their win with three pick-sixes and a fumble recovery returned to the end zone.
Tailgating for the Homecoming game begins at 11:30 a.m. and kick off begins at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 19.
