The Minot Hot Tots went two for two against the Bismarck Larks in their two game series, ending with their victory over the Larks at 9-6 at Corbett Field on Friday, July 31.

Though the teams stayed fairly back and forth through the entirety of the game, the Larks were the first to put a run on the board in the top of the first.

The Hot Tots quickly responded with a single run of their own in the bottom of the first. Drew Reaves secured the run for Minot with his single that allowed Joe DuSell to cross home plate.

The Larks took their lead back and extended it with single runs in the tops of the second and third innings before the Hot Tots finally responded in the bottom of the third. The third, fourth and fifth innings saw the Hot Tots earn just one run each, giving them their first lead of the game at 4-3.

Both the Larks and the Hot Tots earned an additional run in the seventh inning, but the Hot Tots blew ahead with a explosive eighth inning.

A two run RBI single to center field by Tyler Arnold sent two Hot Tots across home plate. On the very next at bat, Micah McCoy hit a sacrifice fly to send another player home.

Austyn Peak closed out the inning with an RBI single into center field that let Arnold himself score home.

The Larks were only able to secure two run in the top of the ninth inning, giving the night’s win to the Hot Tots with a final score of 9-6.
