The Minot High Magicians boys soccer team will host the Minot North Sentinels boys soccer team on Tuesday evening, August 25, for the two hometown rivals’ firs match this season.
The last time the two team faced off was on September 23 of the 2025 season. It was the second time that year that the two teams had faced, and Minot High had taken home the win both times, first was a 2-0 shut out. The second was another shut out at 3-0.
Though the Sentinels ended last season with an overall record of 7-10-1, they are already positioned much at this point in the season than they were last year.
Heading into their fifth game last season, the Sentinels had a losing record of 1-3 with 10 goals scored and 11 goals allowed. This season, the Sentinels have progressed to their fifth game still undefeated in conference and non-conference play with a record of 3-0-1.
So far this season, the Sentinels have had a much strong defense as compared to previous years. The Sentinels offense have 12 goals scored, while the defense had allowed just six goals to be scored against them.
The Minot High Magicians have not had as much experience on the pitch this season heading into their game against the Sentinels.
At this point in the season, the Magi have played just two games. The Magi tied the Jamestown Blue Jays for their season opener and took down the Dickinson Mavericks in their second game.
Though the Magi are also unbeaten so far this season, they have more to prove heading into their game on Tuesday.
The game will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, at Duane Carlson Stadium.
