First round of Pro-Am Charity Tournament closes at Vardon

The Vardon Golf Club is hosting the Western North Dakota Charity Pro-Am Tournament this weekend, and the tournament closed out its first round of play on Thursday, August 13.
Minot’s own Cody Reynolds is the sole representative of Vardon competing in the Pro-AM tournament and just one of three North Dakotans competing out of the 64 total players on Thursday.
Reynolds started off his Thursday round on the tenth hole just before 8 a.m. with a quick birdie. He finished out the back nine of the course with an eagle on the 18th hole, leaving him one under par for his first nine.
Reynolds had just as solid of a front nine to close out his first round. He started with another birdie on the first hole, and an additional birdie on the eighth. Two bogeys on the second and fifth holes left him with a par on the front nine, closing out the round one under par.
Reynolds ended the first day on the course tied for 46th place.
Adam Duncan out of Bakersfield Country Club, Bakersfield, CA closed out the first round in first place with a first round score of 14 under par, a solid three strokes ahead of the second place finisher.
Reynolds earned three eagles during the first round never scored over par on a single hole.
The second round of the Pro-Am Tournament will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, August 14.
