Huskies rout Hot Tots in 17-1 domination

The Huskies were out in full force on Sunday night, July 12, as they took on the Hot Tots at Corbett Field.

The Huskies entered Sunday’s game with a record of one win six losses on the second half of the 2026 season, while the Hot Tots entered with winning record of five wins three losses. Though the Huskies came into Sunday’s game the underdogs, they quickly proved their strength on the field.

Though both teams failed to score a run in the first two innings of play, the Duluth Huskies were the first to score with four runs in the top of the third inning.

The Huskies scored another six runs in the top of the fourth inning, giving them a 10-0 lead before the Hot Tots scored their one and only run of the night in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Alex Altmann ran across home plate in the bottom of the fifth off of an RBI single into right field by Connor Dietsch. Dietsch’s RBI prevented the Hot Tots from being shut out, but the Huskies were too far ahead for the Tots to catch up.

The Huskies grew their lead by another seven runs in the top of the ninth while keeping the Hot Tots scoreless through the rest of the night, ending the game with a Huskies victory at 17-1
