Hot Tots sweep Mud Puppies in two game series

The Minot Hot Tots completed their two game sweep in their home series against the Minnesota Mud Puppies on Tuesday, July 21, for their first back to back wins since they played the Mankato MoonDogs on July 11.

Unlike the previous day’s game, the Hot Tots were the first to put runs on the board with a pair of RBIs in the bottom of the third inning by Joe DuSell and Drew Reaves to bring Minot up 2-0.

Reaves drew in another run in the bottom of the fifth inning to bring the Hot Tots to a 3-0 lead.

The Mud Puppies put their first run on the board in the top of the seventh inning, bring the game to 3-2 befoe the Hot Tots secured their third out.

Minot was quick to respond, netting another four runs in the bottom of the same inning, giving them an even wider 7-2 lead.

The Mud Puppies were only able to score an additional two runs before the game closed out, earning the Hot Tots the win with a 7-4 finish.

The Hot Tots are heading into the last few weeks of Northwoods League play, beginning their second to last week of the season next week.

the Hot Tots will return to Great Plains West competition as they face off against the Bismarck Larks in Bismarck this Friday, July 24.
