Hot Tots and Larks meet for two game series

The Hot Tots were in Bismarck on Friday night, July 24, for the first of a two game series against the Bismarck Larks as they fight for a winning record before the season comes to an end.
The Hot Tots entered their game on Friday night just six wins behind the Great Plains West Division’s front runner for the second half of the season, the Willmar Stingers.
As the Hot Tots go to end the third to last week of competition in the 2026 season, they are still fighting for a chance to compete in the Northwoods League playoffs.
The Hot Tots got the ball rolling right away in the top of the first inning, with Isaac Huettl hitting a two-run RBI to set Minot up for an early lead.
Though the Hot Tots had a strong opener to the game, the Larks were quick to respond. In the bottom of the first inning, the Larks scored three runs on two different RBIs, putting them at a 3-2 lead heading into the second.
Though the second inning remained scoreless for both teams, the Larks were able to widen their lead to 7-2. putting four additional runs on the board in the bottom of the third inning.
Minot struck back in the top of the fifth inning, scoring three more runs to bring the deficit down to two before the Larks could put them away for the inning.
Bismarck responded partway through the bottom of the fifth with three more runs of their own, bringing them to a 10-5 lead at deadline.
The Hot Tots and the Larks will play their second game of the series at Corbett Field on Saturday, July 25.
