Honeybees victorious in season’s final home game

The Minot Honeybees ended their last home game of the 2026 season win a strong win against the Grand Forks Spitfires, taking them down 5-3 half way through the seventh inning.
Though the game was scoreless for the first two innings, the Honeybees had an explosive third inning. Alex Serbio knocked a two run RBI double clear into center field, and Bridget Chapman secured the team’s third run with a fielder’s choice.
The Spitfires responded with a single run in the top of the fourth inning, and tied the game in the top of the fifth with another two runs.
The Honeybees took their lead back in the bottom of the fifth with another RBI double, this tie hit by Cayden Thomas into right field.
The Honeybees defense was able to keep the SPitfires from crossing home through the rest of the game, giving the Honeybees their home closer victory this season 5-3 over Grand Forks.
Though the Honeybees will not be returning to Corbett for the remainder of this year, they still have two more games to play against the Spitfires.
The teams will face off again on Friday, July 31, and Saturday, August 1, to close out the 2026 season.
