Honeybees kick off final series with 9-3 win

The Minot Honeybees began their last series of the 2026 season with a decisive victory over the Grand Forks Spitfires.

The Spitfires were first on the scoreboard on Tuesday night with a single run in the top of the first.

Grand Forks was then able to go up 3-0 int eh top of the second inning, with the Honeybees scoring their first run of the game with Cayden Thomas crossing home plate in the bottom of the second inning.

The Honeybees took their first lead of the game in the bottom of the third, scoring four unanswered runs on three separate RBIs.

The Honeybees defense prevented the Spitfires from crossing home plate through the rest of the game, but the Honeybees were able to secure four more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

The Honeybees secured the win in the first game of their last series of the season.

The Honeybees will play their final home game of the season on Wednesday, July 29, against the Spitfires.
