Originally planning to race in Minot on Sunday, May 31, the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Show was delayed due to weather.

The World of Outlaws released a statement on Sunday announcing the cancellation.

“With heavy rainfall hitting Minot, ND throughout Saturday and more precipitation arriving Sunday morning, creating soft grounds at Nodak Speedway and conditions unsuitable for racing, World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series and SLS Promotions have agreed to postpone the Gerdau Metals Recycling Magic City Showdown to Sunday, Aug. 30,” the statement read.

The Nodak Speedway’s new spot on the World of Outlaws calendar sets it up to be part of a North Dakota triple-header weekend at the end of August.

The weekend will kick off with a race Friday, Aug. 28, at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks. Saturday, Aug. 29, will feature a race in West Fargo at the Fix It Forward Speedway before wrapping up the weekend with a final race at the Nodak Speedway.

Though the World of Outlaws had to postpone their show, Nodak is ready to host their next series of races.

The track with feature their next event on Sunday, June. 7, as part of the 2026 Tougher than Dirt Tour.

The event will see IMCA Hobby Stocks and Sportsmods races as well as Jr. Slingshots with IMCA Stock Cars and Modifieds.

The races at Nodak Speedway will begin on Sunday at 7 p.m.

Starting at $2.99/week.
