Junior Colton Bagshaw helped lead the way to the NSIC postseason for the Minot State baseball team this spring, and his efforts on the diamond for the Beavers, both on the mound and in the outfield, were honored on Tuesday.

The Beavers’ right-handed pitcher, who also played in right field when not on the mound, was voted to the All-NSIC 2nd Team as a utility player by the league’s coaches.

Bagshaw shared the team lead with 5 wins on the hill this season, appearing in 12 games with 11 starts. The junior from Lake Havasu, Arizona, had a team-best 4.10 ERA with 55 strikeouts in 68 innings, and also earned a save in his one relief appearance.

Also a position player for Minot State, Bagshaw hit .261 in 43 games with 4 doubles, 2 triples, 6 home runs, 16 RBIs, and 9 stolen bases.

Defensively, he had 50 putouts and 17 assists combined on the season for Minot State.

Bagshaw and the Beavers (26-23 overall, 20-18 NSIC) open postseason play on Wednesday in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, taking on Minnesota State in the first round of the double-elimination NSIC Baseball Tournament.

Starting at $2.99/week.
