Majettes drop last home series of regular season

The Minot High Majettes closed out their time on home turf in the 2026 regular season with a pair of losses to the Bismarck High Demons on Monday afternoon, May 11.

The Majettes and the Demons went toe to toe in the pitcher’s circle through the first two innings of the first game.

Both pitchers were able to keep the opposing team from scoring any runs, with Minot’s junior pitcher Taryn Dalton allowing just one hit through the pair of innings.

In the top of the third inning, The Demons found their footing, and soared ahead, putting seen runs on the board before the Majettes could secure their third out. Unfortunately for the Majettes, they stayed scoreless in the bottom of the third, and the Demons pulled ahead to a 9-0 lead in the top of the fourth.

The Majettes were ale to put their first and only run of the game on the board in the bottom of the fourth, with freshman Daysi Alm singling a fly ball into left field to allow sophomore Grace Burdick to find her way home.

Though they were able to prevent the shutout, the Majettes allowed another three runs for the Demons in the top of the fifth, endng the game in the bottom of the fifth with a Demons victory at 1-12.

The second game of the afternoon was just as rough for the Majettes as the first.

The Demons started out strong once again in the batter’s box, putting four runs on the board in the top of the first inning. They then secured another seven combined unanswered runs in he top of the second and third innings. The then drove their lead up to 14-0 in the top of the fourth.

The Majettes scored their only run of the game once again in the bottom of the fourth inning, this time with a sacrifice from eighth grader Fisher Anderson that let Daysi Alm score.

The Demons earned an additional four runs in the top of the fifth inning, ending the game with a 1-18 loss for the Majettes.

With their losses to Bismarck High, the Majettes’ record fell to 10-15 on the season and 5-13 in conference play.

The Majettes will head back on the road for their last pair of games for the regular season as they take on the Bismarck Century Patriots on Tuesday, May 12.
