The Minot High Magicians boys varsity golf team took home yet another victory this season with their first place finish in the tournament hosted by the Minot North Sentinels.

The Magi and the rest of the competing teams teed off Friday morning at the Vardon Golf Club, and with just three tournaments left in the regular season, every stroke counts in pursuit of the WDA regular season title. With the Magi’s win on Friday, they are one step closer to claiming that title.

Minot High sophomore Parker Argent once again led the charge for the Magi, shooting four under 72 to medal the tournament.

Argent got his start on Friday on the Vardon’s ninth hole. He earned four birdies during his round and a single eagle on the Vardon’s par five first hole.

Argent finished just ahead of St. Mary’s seventh grade Brody Horner, who finished with a score of three under par.

Argent and Harner were the only two players to finish the round under par.

Sophomore Tripp Toepfer and junior Easton Bradley also broke the top ten individually for Minot High with Toepfer tying for third with a score of two over par and Bradley tying for fifth place with his score of four over par.

Minot North senior Kyler Weishaar led the Sentinels in placement, scoring five over par to tie for eighth place.

The Sentinels finished in fifth place with a team score of 32 over par.

Minot High’s first place ranking came with their final score of just nine over par.

Starting at $2.99/week.
