Knights golf 4th in home invite

The Our Redeemer’s Knights hosted their Varsity Invite at the Beowulf Golf Course on Thursday, May 7, finishing in fourth place out of the 11 competing teams with a total score of 47 over par.

Our Redeemer’s sophomore Jake Altringer led the Knights to their fourth place finish on Thursday, finishing in third place individually with a score of five over 72. Altringer started the round off hot on the third hold, scoring an easy birdie on the par five. He returned to a par score at the next hole with a bogey before earning his second birdie of the day on the sixth hole. From there, Altringer holed six more bogies before closing out the round on the course’s second hole.

Second and third seeded seniors Ethan Brown and Payten Lindbo were next up for the Knights on the individual leader board with their finishing score of 14 over 72 to land tied for 21st place.

The Rugby Panthers walked away with the first place finish overall, taking victory by just one stroke and finishing with a score of 34 over par.

They were led in their first place finish by junior Lucas Wentz, who finished second individually with his score of four over 72.

The Knights will hit the links again on Monday, May 11, as they attend the Rugby Varsity Invite at the Rugby Golf Club.
