The Minot Hot Tots have added two new recruits as the team marches closer to their debut in the 2026 season of Northwoods League baseball.
The Hot Tots announced on Thursday, May 14, that catchers Kellan Burke of Cloud County Community College and Isaac Huettl of Missouri Western State University will be joining the team as they head into the new season.
Burke is making his return to Corbett Field after his first year with the Thunderbirds. As a member of the Minot high Magicians, Burke had a batting average of over .500 and earned the North Dakota Gatorade Player of the Year honors. He helped lead the Magicians to a 21-7 record on the 2025 season and a state runner-up finish. He ended his senior year with 27 RBIs for the season.
As a member of the Thurderbirds, Burke helped lead the team to a record breaking season. He alone hit 18 home runs and was 12th in the nation with 87 runs batted in for his freshman season.
The Thunderbirds ended the season with a 47-5 record and second-place in NJCAA Division I.
Though Huettl is not from Minot, he is making his way back to North Dakota from Missouri to play for the Hot Tots.
The redshirt junior from Mandan was a North Dakota Class A All-Stater as a senior in 2022 and has played collegiate baseball for four years. Huettl is making his return to the Northwoods league, having previously played for the Bismarck Larks.
The pair of catchers will make their home debut as Hot Tots with the rest of the team at Corbett Field on Monday, May 25.
