Beavers softball closes season with 5-1 loss to St. Cloud State

The Minot State Beavers softball team ended their season on Thursday evening, May 7, with their NSIC Tournament second round loss to the St. Cloud State Huskies.

The Beavers had a tough time getting going behind the plate on Thursday, with sophomore Sarah Misner drawing the team’s only hit with a one run home run in the top of the fifth inning. Misner’s home run was the team’s only run on the board against St. Cloud State.

The Huskies got to work right off the bat, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Huskies scored all theruns they needed to in the bottom of the first to secure themselves the win, but they scored once more in the bottom of the third inning.

The game ended after the top of the seventh inning with the Beavers knocked out of the NSIC Tournament.

The Beavers put three pitchers in the circle on Thursday evening, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out just three batters. Senior pitcher Kierra Fournier drew the loss for the Beavers.

The Beavers end their 2026 season with an overall record of 34 wins 22 losses.
