The Minot State softball team is at home for another pair of games on Friday, Apr. 15, as they fave off against the University of Jamestown Jimmies for the second time this season.
The Beavers are heading into their weekend game against their in-state rivals off the heels of a six game win streak after they swept last week’s three home double headers. The Beavers bested the University of Mary Marauders, the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons and the University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles in three straight double headers and are looking to bring their win streak to eight with their games this Friday.
The Beavers have already taken on the Jimmies this season in their double header in Jamestown.
In their first game of the season, the Beavers shut out the Jimmies 9-0 in just five innings of play. The second game of the double header was won by the Jimmies 2-9, their first victory over the Beavers in the last two seasons.
The Jimmies are heading into this Friday’s games with a record of 26-15, just one loss less than the 26-16 Beavers. The Jimmies are also on an offensive hot streak, winning four our of their last six games in NSIC play.
The Beavers and the Jimmies will kick off their second meet of the season at the South Hill Complex beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday, Apr. 17. After their pair of games against the Jimmies, the Beavers will head back on the road to face Northern State University on Sunday, Apr. 19.
