Beaver softball readies for week of double headers
The Minot State Beavers softball team is back at home this week for a series of double headers against key NSIC opponents.
Hot off of their 2-0 sweep of the Bemidji State Beavers over the weekend and their split double header against the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs, the Beavers are looking to keep up their offensive performance heading into this week and the upcoming weekend.
The Beavers will be back in the Bubble on Tuesday, Apr. 7, to take on the University of Mary Marauders in a double header beginning at 1 p.m.
The Beavers have been unseated against the Marauders since late March of 2019 where the Beavers took home a 12-0 victory in the second game of a double header. The last time the Beavers and the Marauders met on the field was on Mar. 26 of their 2025 where the Beavers took down the Marauders 9-0 in Bismarck.
After their two-game series against the University of Mary, the Beavers will head outside to take on the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons at the SCHEELS South Hill Softball Complex for their second NSIC match up of the week and first of the weekend.
The Beavers last faced the Dragons in the first round of the first round of the NSIC Tournament, where the Dragons knocked Minot State out of the tournament with their 1-4 loss.
The Beavers will begin their first game of the double header against the Dragons with the first pitch thrown out at noon on Saturday, Apr. 11.
After their bout with the Dragons, the Beavers will play the University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles the very next day, once again at the South Hill Softball Complex.
Like the Marauders, the Beavers have a strong historical record against the Golden Eagles. Though the Beavers are 38-7 against the Golden Eagles since 2012, the last time the two teams met, the two split a double headers in a pair of away games for the Beavers in Crookston, MN.
The Beavers and the Golden Eagles will kick off the last double header of the weekend beginning at noon on Sunday, Apr. 12.
Having six NSIC games this week, the Beavers have a chance to climb the NSIC rankings as the NSIC tournament beginning in less than a month on May 6.
