The Minot State Beavers baseball team hosted their first home game of the 2026 season on Wednesday afternoon, Mar. 25, in their first bout against the University of Mary Marauders this season.

The Beavers dropped their home opener 2-0 after nine innings of play.

Minot State dropped their second game in a row against the Marauders after playing them in a double header in April last season.

The Beavers went three up and down in the bottom of the second, and earned one more run in the third inning with a single to center field by senior Noah Madas.

The game stayed scoreless for both teams clear through to the top of sixth inning when the Marauders put the first run on the board with an RBI single into right field. Beavers senior pitcher Andrew Kim closed the top of the inning out with a strike out before the Marauders could score again.

The Beavers went three up and down again in the bottom of the sixth before the Marauders scored their second run of the game in the top of the seventh.

The rest of the game was scoreless for both teams, with the Beavers closing out the day with three strike outs swinging in the bottom of the ninth. The Marauders walked away with the win 2-0.

The Beavers fell to a season record of 9-13 with their loss on Wednesday. They are scheduled to take on the Augustana University Vikings in NSIC conference play for a three-game series, starting with a double header on Saturday, Mar. 28 in Sioux Falls, SD.

The Beavers will be back home on Tuesday, Mar. 31, in double header against the University of Jamestown Jimmies.
