Darik Dissette finished with a game-high 19 points and Carson Yale recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds as the Minot State men’s basketball team defeated Minnesota State Moorhead, 74-67, on Saturday, Feb. 14, at Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse. Dissette finished one rebound shy of a double-double himself.

The Beavers (11-15 overall, 8-12 NSIC) had five players finish in double figures.

Minot State led by as many as eight in the first half and led 35-31 at the break. The Dragons (12-14, 9-11) took a 62-60 lead with 4:39 remaining in regulation on a layup by Levi Birkholz, but the Beavers retook the lead with a 7-0 run for a 69-62 advantage with 1:01 left and held off Moorhead from there.

Minot State held a 40-29 edge in rebounds.

Isa El-Amin led the Dragons with 14 points. Moorhead was 9-for-32 from distance.

The Beavers travel to play Jamestown on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 7:30 p.m.
