Men’s Basketball: Beavers close regular season with loss to Northern State
The Minot State men’s basketball team dropped a 76-62 decision to Northern State on Senior Night at the MSU Dome on Saturday, Feb. 21.
The Beavers (12-16 overall, 9-13 NSIC) received 16 points each from Deuce Benjamin and Darik Dissette. Both also pulled down five rebounds.
The Beavers went just 1-for-11 from behind the 3-point line. Trey Brandt hit the team’s lone 3-pointer for his only points of the contest.
The Wolves (12-16, 12-10) led wire-to-wire, holding as big as an 18-point advantage in the second half. Joshua Book and Simon Akena each finished with 16 points to lead Northern State. Marshawn Smith and James Glenn also finished in double figures, adding 14 and 11 points, respectively.
The Beavers head to the postseason, where they will play at Minnesota Duluth in the first round of the NSIC Tournament on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 6 p.m.
