Boys Swimming & Diving: Magicians win trio of duals over weekend
The Minot High boys swimming and diving team won all three of its duals across two locations over the weekend, opening with a 114-72 victory over Mandan at Magic City Campus on Friday, Feb. 13. The Magicians traveled to Williston on Saturday, Feb. 14, coming away with a 103-82 victory over the host Coyotes and a 134.5-45.5 victory against Bismarck High.
Minot North also took part in the double dual on Friday, falling to Mandan 104-80.
The Magicians claimed the top spot in nine of the 12 events on Friday, including a pair of victories in the relays. The Sentinels won the 100-yard freestyle and the 100 breaststroke, while the Braves won the 200 medley relay.
Luke Neumann and Andrew Francis each swept their two individual events. Neumann won the 200 freestyle in 1 minute, 53.27 seconds and the 100 butterfly in 56.74. Francis was the top finisher in both the 200 individual medley (2:07.73) and the 500 freestyle (5:13.23). Both were also part of the 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay teams that took first place.
Talmage Pehrson (50 freestyle) and Caden Brey (100 backstroke) also picked up wins for the Magicians in the swimming events. Holden Williams won the 1-meter diving event with a score of 454.40.
Tyler Warren and Jameson Langager picked up wins for the Sentinels in the 100 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke, respectively. Tim Sharp-Driver finished runner-up in both the 200 individual medley and the 100 breaststroke.
Individual results for the duals in Williston were not available.
The Magicians close out the regular season with a double dual against Williston and Minot North on Thursday, Feb. 19, at Magic City Campus at 5 p.m.
