Boys Swim & Dive: Magicians 6th, Sentinels 10th at West Fargo Invite

Fargo South, West Fargo and Bismarck Century dominated the 13-team West Fargo Invite, claiming the top three spots by a healthy margin during the East-West showdown in the pool on Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Hulbert Aquatic Center.

All three schools surpassed 300 points and finished more than 100 points clear of fourth place. Fargo South edged out West Fargo with 347 points to win the meet. The host Packers finished with 340 points and Century was third with 318 points. Jamestown (214) and Fargo Davies (176) rounded out the top five.

Both Minot High and Minot North competed in the event, placing sixth and 10th, respectively. The Magicians scored 168.5 points and the Sentinels had 108.5 points.

The Magicians finished 3-4 in the 1-meter diving. Tayson Solper scored 360.45 points to take third and Holden Williams came in right behind him with 358.05 points.

Luke Neumann finished in the top 10 in both of his individual events, placing fifth in the 100 freestyle and 10th in the backstroke. Andrew Francis took fourth in the 100 butterfly. Neumann and Francis were part of the 400 freestyle relay team along with Josiah Reiss and Gavin King that finished in fifth.

Barrett Hannegrefs had the top performance for Minot North with a pair of top-10 finishes. He came in eighth in the 200 freestyle and ninth in the butterfly. Jameson Langager also cracked the top 10, placing 10th in the breaststroke.
