The Berthold girls basketball team celebrates its Region 3 championship title with its fans after defeating Tioga 71-61 on Thursday, Feb. 26, at the Minot Municipal Auditorium. Berthold’s Ella Brown led all scorers with 25 points, knocking down five 3-pointers. Addison Neshem poured in 21 points for the Bombers, who overcame an early deficit to win their second consecutive Region 3 title and return to the state tournament. The Bombers hit 10 3-pointers for the game and put up 26 points in the third quarter to build a 52-46 advantage. Keslee Keever and Kambree Johnson each had 17 points for the Pirates, who were looking for their first regional title as well as their first appearance at the state tournament. Tioga will play a state qualifier on Saturday, Feb. 28, against Flasher at Bismarck Century High School.
