Men’s Wrestling: Beavers pick up first NSIC dual victory of season

The Minot State men’s wrestling team won points in six matches, including three via pins, leading to a 32-18 victory over the University of Jamestown on Thursday, Dec. 18, for the Beavers’ first conference dual victory of the season.

Cole Faircloth (125 pounds), John Armstrong (165) and Shafer Ehmke (197) all claimed victories in their matches by submission. Ehmke made quick work of Jesse Addington with a pin in just over a minute. Faircloth submitted Isaac Ronquillo in 2:12, while Armstrong had the longest bout of the three before pinning Rocker Aguilar a tick under six minutes.

Ethan Wonser (149) and Gavin Turk (174) also won matches for the Beavers. Wonser scored a 14-11 decision over William Cook and Turk gave his team five points with an 18-1 technical fall over Colton Schaad in seven minutes.

Carmine Morton (285) won his match via forfeit.

The Jimmies scored points at 133, 141, 157 and 184. Elijah Nose and Kellan Larson won vvia submission. Maddox Campbell and Hayden Ramaeker earned three points each for Jamestown with 12-9 and 13-10 decisions, respectively.

The Beavers return to the mat in 2026 when they travel to Gunnison, Colo., to compete in the Western Colorado Open on Friday, Jan. 9, at 1 p.m.
