Girls Hockey: Minot United shut out by defending state champion Legacy/Bismarck
The Minot United girls hockey team’s offensive struggles continued as the team finds itself dropping down toward the bottom of the state standings
Minot United (1-3-1-0 overall, 0-3-1-0 state) was shutout for the second consecutive game, this time to defending state champion Legacy/Bismarck, 2-0, on Tuesday, Dec. 16. Minot United hasn’t scored since Julia Stoner lit the lamp at 7:38 of the second period against Grand Forks, a span of 128 minutes, 22 seconds.
Alli Beckers got Legacy/Bismarck on the board at 9:40 of the opening period, with the assist going to Anna Egeland. Alivia Rask stretched the lead on the power play in the second period with Ava Beda in the box for Minot United for goaltender interference.
Legacy/Bismarck (3-2-0-1, 3-2-0-0) outshot Minot United 48-16.
Minot United’s Faith Seekings finished with 46 saves. Legacy/Bismarck’s Tesha Kostelecky stopped all 16 shots she faced for her first win.
Minot United continues its six-game road trip on Friday, Dec. 19, at Jamestown. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
