Riders battle bulls in Minot

Minot hosted their first event of the Professional Bull Riders Touring Pro Division 2026 season over the weekend, Friday and Saturday Nov. 21-22, at the Minot Municipal Auditorium.
This past weekend’s event in Minot is the Touring Pro Division’s sixth event of the 2026 season and featured 19 professional riders from all around the world.
Thiago Salgado, a 23 year old rider from Navirai in Brazil, took home first place overall in the weekend’s event with a total score of 132 points earned over three rounds. Salgado was 39 points ahead of the second place finisher, Zack Morrison from Libby, MT, and was the only rider to complete three out of three official rides.
North Dakota had just one representative for the state in the event with 43 year old professional rider Tell Jacobs. Jacobs comes from Twin Buttes, ND and rode in his first event of the Touring Pro Division’s 2026 season this past weekend. Jacobs rode his first event under the PBR umbrella in 2012 as part of the PBR Canada division in the Thief River Falls MN PBR Touring Pro event. He took a hiatus after the Touring Pro Division event in Williston, ND in 2013 before returning to the PBR scene in the 2022 season of the PBR Challenger Series. Jacobs finished ninth place in the Minot Y’s Men PBR event this past weekend with an overall score of 21.5, completing just one out of three rides and totalling $1,793 in prize money for the weekend.
The PBR Touring Pro Division will hold their next event, the PBR Stockyards Showcase, in Fort Worth, TX next week on Thursday, Dec. 4.
