It was a showcase and the Minot State men’s hockey team put on a show for the fans in Romeoville, Ill.

The Beavers capped off an undefeated three-game run with an 8-2 victory over Arizona State at the ACHA Showcase on Sunday, Nov. 23.

Minot State broke the game open with a five-goal second period. Matt Egan, Logan Rands, Colby Joseph, Ben Johnson and Joey Moffatt all tallied goals in the second period as the Beavers outshot the Sun Devils 17-4 in the stanza and 45-22 for the game.

Egan finished with two goals and an assist. Ben Johnson also had a three-point afternoon with a goal and two assists. Twelve Minot State skaters recorded at least a point.

Blake Slittler picked up the win in net for the Beavers, recording 20 saves.

The Beavers opened the showcase on Friday with a 2-1 victory over No. 8 UNLV. They followed up with a 4-2 win over No. 17 Utah on Saturday.

Minot State travels for a weekend series with Liberty University beginning on Friday, Dec. 5.
