Beavers squash Bismarck State College 3-2
The Minot State volleyball team took on Bismarck State College at home on Tuesday, September 30 and walked away with their second win of the season 3-2.
With Tuesday’s out of conference victory, the Beavers improved their record on the season to 2-12. The Beavers were led in stats by junior outside hitter Caton Pearcy who earned a double-double in the match, securing a total of 11 digs and 19 kills on the day. For the defense, senior setter Jaina Macaulay led the charge, earning a total of 16 digs over the course of five sets with freshman middle blocker/outside hitter Azjiah Trader taking home four blocks. The Beavers had four players earn double-digit kills against Bismarck State College, including redshirt junior Katelyn Onespot-Danforth with 12, sophomore Jasmin Bell with another 12 and junior Emily Willis earning 10 total kills. Along with her double-double, Caton Pearcy also earned a match-high four aces on the day and Katelyn Onespot-Danforth earned a match-high 24 assists over the course of five sets. The Beavers will be heading on the road for their next match as they look to take on Bemidji State University. Their match will begin at 4 p.m. in Bemidji, Minnesota this Friday, October 3.
