Beavers look to extend win-streak to two against Dragons

The Minot State Beavers earned their first victory of the 2025 season during their home game against Bemidji State University at home last Saturday, September 27, and they are going into this next game to earn their second.

The 2025 Beavers made franchise history in their home game against Bemidji State, beating them in the ‘Battle of the Beavers’ for the first time since the two teams first clashed in 2004. Minot State won the game with their fourth touchdown in the fourth quarter of the game to bring the score to 28-21. Sophomore cornerback Nalu Cordeiro intercepted a pass from Bemidji State and ran it back to score with just one minute and 46 seconds left on the clock. Bemidji State made their way back down the field and Cordeiro intercepted another one of their passes in the end zone to keep Bemidji State from tying the game and sending the teams into overtime.

This week, The Beavers are heading on the road to take on the Minnesota State University Dragons in Moorhead, Minnesota in search of their second season win. The Beavers will be facing another historic uphill battle on Saturday, October 4, having a franchise record of 1-11 against the Dragons. The Beavers’ only victory against Bemidji State came in their first bout in 2012. The two teams have played every season since then aside from 2020. Their last game played against each other was on Saturday, November 2, 2024 and ended with a Beaver loss 38-42. The Beavers score an average of 21.42 points per game against the Dragons and have earned a total of 257 points against them over the course of the last 12 games. The Beavers’ 2025 game against Minnesota State University will begin at Nemzek Stadium in Moorhead, Minnesota at noon on Saturday, October 4.
