Bottineau takes Harvey Invite by more than 20 strokes

The Bottineau girls’ golf team took home first place in the Harvey Invite Wednesday, August 3 with a total stroke count of 379, 22 strokes less than the second place team.

Bottineau’s top golfer for the event was junior Ellee Rybchinski, who placed first individually with a total score of 84. Bottineau junior Katie Moen also broke into the top five golfers at the invitational, taking fourth place with a score of 92.

The Velva Aggies took home second overall with a combined score of 401. Their top golfer was junior Grace Balas, who took second place individually with a stroke count of 90. Their second best golfer of the day was sophomore Bella Pederson, who was seeded sixth for the Aggies going into the invite. Pederson took home sixth place individually with a round score of 97.

The Rugby High School Panthers took home third place in the competition with a score of 413. Senior Brooke Kleespie was top golfer for the Panthers, taking home fifth place individually with a stroke count of 95. Only one other Panther broke the top ten in the competition. Freshman fourth seed Avery Santjer tied with Velva junior Tessa Clemens with a stroke count of 103.
