Beavers still looking for first win of season

The Minot State Beavers football team is still in search of their first win this season as they head to Winona State University for their fourth game on Saturday, September 20.
The Beavers came closest to their first win of the season during their homecoming game against the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears with their 21-27 loss in the fourth quarter. Minot State earned their second most rushing yards of the season in their homecoming game with 317 yards over 58 attempts. They also earned their most passing yards in their game against the Golden Bears, totaling 74 over three attempts.
The Beavers will be traveling to Winona, Minnesota to take on the Winona State Warriors for their weekend game. The Warriors are 1-1 in their conference and 1-2 for the season. They have had an average of 16.33 points per game compared to Minot State’s 14.67 average points per game. The Beavers have played their offense largely on the ground this season. They have earned just under 1,000 rushing yards in just three games at 927 with just 127 yards passing. The Warriors in comparison have just 354 rushing yards gained and 497 yards passing.
The Beavers are 1-6 historically against Winona State. The last time the teams played was during the 2024 season when Minot State beat the Warriors for the first time with a score of 56-23. It was the first time the Beavers scored more than two touchdowns in a game against the Warriors.
The game will begin at 1 p.m. at Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium also known at Maxwell Field in Winona, MN this Saturday, September 20.
