Beavers return home in search of first season win

Minot State will face the Bemidji State University in a battle of the Beavers at Herb Parker Stadium on Saturday, September 27.
Minot State is still in search of their first win of the season as they head into their weekend bout. Minot State took on Winona State in last week’s game on Saturday, September 20. Redshirt junior Cody Raetzman earned two interceptions for the Beavers in their game against the Warriors, but it wasn’t enough to put them over the top.
Sophomore kicker Brandon McCary scored the first points for the Beavers off of a field goal in the second quarter. The Beavers were behind for the entirety of their game against the Warriors. The closest the Beavers came to taking the lead was in the fourth quarter when freshman Gage Cavanaugh caught a 49 yard pass from senior quarterback Carson Chrisman to score a touchdown with thirteen minutes left on the clock. The score then was 25-28. The Warriors scored one more touchdown of their own before the end of the game, leaving the Beavers with an 0-4 record heading into this weekend.
Minot State and Bemidji State University last played on October 19, 2024 away. The score at the end of the game 9-21 with a Minot State loss. In the two teams’ 19 bouts over the years, Minot State has yet to best Bemidji State. The closest Minot State got to a win was on August 28, 2008 when they lost by three points with a final score of 24-27. Minot State has averaged just 14.37 points per game against Bemidji State over the years with 273 total points scored.
