The Minot State Beavers women’s soccer team lost to the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears 0-1 after their away game Sunday, September 7 for an 0-2 record on the season.

The only goal of the game came from the Golden Bears’ senior defender Belle Abruzzo in the 41st minute of the match. She was assisted by senior Nicole Moore in scoring her third career goal at CSP.

The Beavers’ red shirt sophomore goalie Rebecca Sargent had eight saves on seventeen shots with nine of them being on goal against the Golden Bears on September 7. This is her first season with Minot State after transferring from Laramie County Community College where she earned the title of Region IX Goalie of the Year, earned after her 10 wins and 5 shutouts at her old school.

The Beavers had their own share of shots taken during the match, taking just three through both halves. The match against Concordia-St. Paul was the Beavers’ second match of the weekend, and coach Chris Logan thinks they were pushing themselves.

“We stretched ourselves this weekend with two quality opponents and grew very quickly from the first game to the second,” Coach Logan said. “While we are pleased to see the growth within the ambitious team, we aren’t happy to come away without a positive result and we are already looking forward to our next match.”

The Beavers will next play the Montana State University Billings Yellowjackets away on Saturday, September 13.

Starting at $2.99/week.
