Kevin Speed named to Elite 100 Watch List

Kevin Speed
After a stellar season on the gridiron that earned Minot State defensive back Kevin Speed All-NSIC honors last fall, the Beavers’ junior defender is already earning honors this season.
Named a NSIC Player to Watch last week, this week, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound Beaver safety was honored by D2Football.com as he was named to the D2 Football Elite 100 Preseason Watch List. Speed was named to the SQUAD Team on defense, which is the equivalent to earning preseason All-American honorable mention honors.
Last fall, Speed played in 10 games for the Beavers in his first season at Minot State after transferring from Georgia Southern. He finished second on the team with 45 tackles (30 solo, 15 assists), which included 3 tackles for loss. He added an interception and broke up 4 passes while earning 1st Team All-NSIC honors.
Speed and the rest of the Minot State football team open the 2025 season on the road with a non-conference contest at Emporia State (Kan.) on Thursday, August 28. The Beavers make their home debut hosting Concordia, St. Paul on Saturday, September 13, at 2 p.m. for Homecoming at First Western Bank Field at Herb Parker Stadium.
