NDHSAA State Class A Boys’ golf preview

The first groups of the 2025 NDHSAA Class A Boys State Golf Tournament are scheduled to tee off at 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, June 3.

There are twelve teams vying to take home first place in the state tournament. The city of Minot is being represented by the Minot High Magicians and the Minot North Sentinels.

The first seeded player for Minot North is senior Kasen Rostad. Rostad took third place individually during the 2025 West Region Boys Golf Tournament held in Minot last week. He ended the regional event just one over par with a total of 73 strokes.

Minot North took third place in the regional tournament. Rostad is scheduled to tee off at 7:40 a.m. on the first hole of the course. He will be playing with Parker Beck of Century High School, Ryker Grinaker of Fargo Shanly and Silas Dusenbury of Grand Forks Red River.

Minot North freshman Teegan Dangle was the next highest to place at the West Region tournament. Sixth for Minot North and is scheduled to start round one at 8:25 a.m. on the first hole of the course Tuesday morning. A win this year would be the first state title for Minot North’s golf team.

He is scheduled to play with Maxwell Splonskowski of Century High School, Ryan Zreik of Fargo Shanley, and Jordan Peters of Grand Forks Red River.

Minot High’s first seed going into the tournament is Freshman Parker Argent. Parker tied for 18th place in the West Region tournament last week. He ended the tournament 7 over par with a total stroke count of 79.

Parker is a legacy player for Minot High, His older brother, Gavin Argent, is the last Minot High player to win medalist honors for the school, but that was back in 2021.

Minot High’s only state title this year was won by their girls’ tennis team during their tournament last Thursday, May 29, so they are hungry for another one.

Argent is scheduled to tee off for the first round at 7:40 a.m. on Tuesday at the tenth hole of the course.

Four other teams from the West Region will also be competing: the Century Patriots, the Williston Coyotes, the Jamestown Blue Jays and the Dickinson Midgets.

The 2025 NDHSAA Class A Boys State Golf Tournament is scheduled to take place at the Vardon Golf Club in Minot this week. The first round will take place on Tuesday, June 3 and the second round will take place on Wednesday, June 4.
