Local athletes chosen for all-state teams

The North Dakota High School Coaches Association announced the lineups for several all-state teams this week. Several local athletes have been selected for the teams.

The 2025 Girls’ Tennis All-State Team was announced as part of a press release on Wednesday. Minot High junior Kylie Fettig and Minot High sophomore Ava Thuner were two of the five athletes chosen for the singles team.

Fettig took third place in the NDHSAA 2025 State Girls Tennis Tournament Singles Championships last week. She played against Thuner in the third place match during the tournament. Thunder took home fourth place.

They will be playing with sophomore Sarea Gu of West Fargo Sheyenne, junior Shayna Klitzke of Dickinson and sophomore Avy Ator of Williston. They took first, second and fourth in the state tournament respectively.

Minot High junior and senior Grace Olson and Lila Olson were selected as one of five doubles teams for the all-state team. They were the Minot High doubles team to compete in the state championship where they took third place.

The 2025 2025 Girls’ Soccer All-State Team was also announced last week. Minot High senior Makenna Aldrich was selected for the first all-state team. Minot High took home second place in the state tournament last weekend. Minot North’s representative for the first all-state team is junior Julia Lewis.

Sophomore Kynsli Gillmore of Minot High was chosen for the second team along with Minot North sophomore Anistyn Perrin.

Minot High has two players who were chosen for the 2025 Class A Baseball All-State Team, seniors Kellan Burke and Carson Deaver. Minot High took second place at this year’s state tournament. Burke was also named NDHSCA POWERade Outstanding Senior Athlete of this year in Class A baseball. Minot North junior Brody Mueller, shortstop for the Sentinels, was also chosen for the Class A team.

Velva/Drake-Anamoose senior Reggie Bruner was selected for the first 2025 Class B Baseball All-State Team along with senior Jacob Schaefer of Des Lacs-Burlington and senior Drew Zwak of Bishop Ryan/Nedrose. Bishop Ryan/Nedrose took home fifth place during the 2025 NDHSAA Class B Baseball State Tournament.

Des Lacs-Burlington/Lewis & Clark had three athletes selected for the Class B SoftballAll-State Team this year. Sophomore Sierra Yale, freshman Piper Feller and junior Logen Ystaas were all picked for the 2025 team. DLBLC took home second place during the 2025 NDHSAA Class B Softball State Tournament. Sophomore Grace Balas of Velva/Drake-Anamoose was also chosen for the team and her coach, Bryce Gutknecht, was chosen as the Class B softball NDHSCA SUBWAY Coach of the Year.
