MSU women’s wrestling announces season schedule

With the NCAA announcing that women’s wrestling will be a championship sport for the 2025-26 academic year, an exciting season on the mats looms ahead for the fourth-year Minot State program.

And to get that season underway, Beavers head coach Brittney Mitchem is proud to announce her team’s schedule for the upcoming year, a regular-season slate that features four regular-season home dates and includes two tournaments hosted at the MSU Dome.

The Beavers will get things started with their annual exhibition, the Beaver Intersquad Dual on Sunday, October 26, at 2 p.m. at the MSU Dome.

After the pre-season tune-up, Minot State hits the road to open its season in earnest in Iowa, wrestling in a duel against Waldorf on Friday, November 7, then at the Waldorf Open on Saturday, November 8.

The Beavers are back on the road for another dual tournament the next weekend, heading to Sioux Falls, South Dakota for the NSIC Duals hosted by Sioux Falls on Saturday, November 15.

With the season well underway, Minot State heads home to host two tournaments, the first on Friday, November 21, and second on Saturday, November 22. The first event is the 4th annual Beaver Bash Duals with action slated to begin at 10 a.m. on Friday at the MSU Dome. The Beavers then host a second day of action at the MSU Dome on Saturday with the inaugural Beaver Bash Open starting at 9 a.m.

After the two home tournaments, Minot State is in Kansas for two days of competition, the first a dual against Fort Hays State on Friday, December 5, then the Fort Hays State Open on Saturday, December 6.

The Beavers then wrap up the 2025 portion of their schedule with a final dual on the road, wrestling against host Dickinson State on Saturday, December 13.

After nearly a month off to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s, the Minot State women return to the mats with two days of competition in Nebraska, wrestling in the Chadron State Duals on Friday, January 9, then in the Chadron State Open on Saturday, January 10.

The Beavers then return to North Dakota for a dual at Jamestown on Sunday, January 18, then are back at the MSU Dome the following weekend for a tri-dual. Minot State will host Dickinson State and Bismarck State, now in its first year as a 4-year school, in the tri-dual scheduled for 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 25. The Tri-dual also will be “Senior Day” for the fourth-year Beaver women’s wrestling program.

The Beavers will see both the Blue Hawks and Mystics again over the coming weeks as Minot State next hits the road to compete at the Dickinson State Open on Friday, January 30, then heads to Bismarck to take on the Mystics in a dual on Wednesday, February 4.

Minot State then returns home to close out the regular season, hosting Jamestown in a dual on Sunday, February 8, at 2 p.m.

After wrapping up the regular season, the Beavers begin postseason action competing at the National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships Region 8 Tournament and the NCWWC National Tournament, with dates and sites yet to be determined.

Minot State also is awaiting information on the dates and sites for the first-ever NCAA National Tournament, which will feature all three Divisions (I, II, and III) competing in a single tournament. That inaugural NCAA Tournament is expected to feature 32 wrestlers in each of 10 weight classes, with schools allowed to send a maximum of 15 wrestlers to nationals.
