Majettes play last game of regular season

The Minot High girls’ soccer team faced off against the Williston Coyotes Thursday night for the last game of the regular season.

The Majettes had an explosive first half, quickly scoring three goals in the first 15 minutes.

The first goal of the night was scored by Minot High senior Makenna Aldrich in the ninth minute. She was assisted by sophomore Syvanna Maree Fowler.

The next goals were scored in rapid succession, the first by Minot High sophomore Aleah Gibbons assisted by senior Morgan Forthun, the second was scored by Forthun with Gibbons returning the favor with the assist.

The fourth goal of the match was scored by Minot High by sophomore Fowler in the 24th minute. She was assisted by freshman Kaylee Jackson.

The last two goals of the first half were scored unassisted by Minot High junior Camdyn Varty and Minot North senior Jayda Schall.

The half ended with the Majettes up 6-0.

Minot High was able to keep the momentum through the second half, scoring two more goals.

Both goals were scored by Minot’s sophomore Aleah Gibbons. The first was in the 46th minute, and the second in the 63rd minute.

In the last minute of the match, Aleah Gibbons shot over the goalie’s head to bring the score to 9-0 for Minot High as the buzzer sounded.

The Minot High Majettes go into the WDA Championships undefeated as the number 1 seed with a record of 13-0-3.

The Majettes have scored the most goals and allowed the fewest against them in the state.

The 2025 NDHSAA Girls Soccer State Tournament is scheduled to start Thursday, May 29 and run through Saturday, May 31.
