Girls’ tennis heads to Grand Forks for state
The NDHSAA State Girls Tennis Tournament Team Championship and the NDHSAA 2025 State Girls Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships are scheduled for later this week in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
The team championship is scheduled for Thursday, May 29. Minot High is the first seed in the west region heading into the tournament.
Minot High will play against the fourth seed of the east region, Fargo Davies. The match is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Choice Health & Fitness in Grand Forks.
East second seed West Fargo Sheyenne will be taking on third seed west Legacy High. Their match will also be held at 10 a.m. at the same location as Minot and Sheyenne.
The east region’s first seed, Grand Forks Red River, will be playing against Mandan High, the west region’s fourth seed at 10 a.m. at the Wynne Courts in Grand Forks.
The second seed of the west region, Century High, will play against Fargo Shanley/Oak Grove, who is seeded third in the east division. They will play at the same time and location of the Grand Fork Red River/Mandan match.
The quarter finals and championship match, as well as the fifth and third places matches will also take place on May 29.
The single and doubles girls’ tennis state tournaments are scheduled for May 30 and May 31.
Sophomore Ava Thuner and junior Kyllie Fettig are representing Minot High in the NDHSAA 2025 State Girls Tennis Singles Championships. They are seeded third and second in the west region respectively heading into the tournament.
Thuner is scheduled to play on Friday, May 30 at 10 a.m. at the Wynn Courts against the sixth seeded player in the east region, a player from Grand Forks Red River.
Fettig is set to play against the seventh seeded player from the east region, a player from Fargo Shanley. She will play at the same time and location as Thuner.
Junior Addy Clarck is representing Minot North at the same tournament. She is seeded sixth in the west region and is scheduled to play against the third seed from the east region, a player from West Fargo Sheyenne. They are scheduled to play Friday, May 30 at 10 a.m. at the Wynn Courts.
Senior Lila Olson and junior Grace Olson are the only Minot doubles team playing in the NDHSAA 2025 State Girls Tennis Doubles Championships this week. They are seeded first heading into the tournament after securing the championship in the WDA Individual Doubles Tournament on May 24.
They are scheduled to play on Friday, May 30 at 1 p.m. at the Choice Health & Fitness in Grand Forks. They will play against the east region eighth seeded team from West Fargo Horace.
The semifinal and championship matches for both tournaments are set to take place on Saturday, May 31.
