Beavers softball falls to Dragons in first round of tourney
SIOUX FALLS, SD — The Minot State Beavers concluded their 2025 season Wednesday with a loss in round one of the NSIC Tournament to the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons.
Junior Sara Van Wickler totaled three hits, but the Beavers fell to the Minnesota State-Moorhead Dragons 4-1.
Senior Reegan Floyd (13-11) started and took the loss in the circle for Minot State (27-25). The right-hander went seven innings, giving up four runs, three earned, on nine hits, allowing one walk and striking out three.
Van Wickler’s three-hit day led the Beavers offensively. Junior Paige Kellogg put together a noteworthy effort as well, going 2-for-3 with an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Beavers were trailing 1-0 in the fifth inning when they first put runs on the board. Minot State got an RBI single from Kellogg, scoring junior Micaela Resler from third base. Minnesota State-Moorhead then scored three times over the remaining two innings to break the tie and grab the 4-1 win.
