NDSU’s Kopp, Mostaert Named Academic All-Americans

FARGO – North Dakota State University (NDSU) linebacker Logan Kopp and defensive tackle Eli Mostaert were named to the 2024 Academic All-America® Football Team on Tuesday, January 28, as selected by College Sports Communicators.

Established in 1952, the CSC Academic All-America® program is the longest running and premier award for athletic and academic success across championship college sports in the NCAA, NAIA, two-year colleges and Canadian institutions.

Kopp, a junior from St. Louis, Mo., was voted to the Academic All-America® second team with a 3.74 GPA in mechanical engineering. He led NDSU with 73 total tackles, three interceptions and six pass breakups, and was second on the Bison with 8.5 tackles for loss including 3.0 sacks. He is a two-time All-Missouri Valley Football Conference first team honoree.

Mostaert, a senior from Lakeville, Minn., made the Academic All-America® second team with a 3.92 GPA in the master of business administration program. Mostaert led the Bison with 11.5 tackles for loss and 6.0 sacks, had five quarterback hurries, and was second on the team with 56 total tackles. He was a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award, made the All-MVFC first team, and earned first team FCS All-America honors.

Nominees must be at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing, carry at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale), and demonstrate outstanding athletic ability and contributions to their team while participating in a minimum of 90 percent of their team’s games, or starting in at least 66 percent of their team’s games.
