UND skater named NCHC Rookie of the Week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of North Dakota freshman forward Sacha Boisvert took home his first weekly honor as a collegiate player on Monday, November 4, earning the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) Rookie of the Week award after a three-point weekend at No. 9/8 Cornell.
Boisvert was all over the ice against the Big Red, pacing the Fighting Hawks with three points on a goal and two assists over the two contests. The Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, native notched the primary helper on UND’s first goal on Friday before recording his third multipoint game of the season in Saturday’s finale.
The Chicago first rounder pulled NoDak within a goal with an assist on Saturday before making a terrific individual play to hold the puck in the offensive zone, dance around the defender and bury his own rebound to give the visitors a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes with his second goal of the year.
Boisvert now has two goals and five assists this season for seven points to pace all UND skaters in both points and assists.
North Dakota returns to the ice this weekend at Minnesota Duluth to begin the NCHC slate beginning on Friday night, November 9, at 7:07 p.m. from AMSOIL Arena.
