Bison roll by Jamestown in season opener
FARGO – The North Dakota State University (NDSU) men’s basketball team cruised by Jamestown in the regular season opener on Monday night, November 4, winning 96-59 at home.
Senior guard Jacari White led the Bison with a career-high 22 points, making 5-of-7 from beyond the arc and adding six rebounds. Tajavis Miller scored 12 points, and Masen Miller and Noah Feddersen both had 11 points.
NDSU freshman Treyson Anderson finished with 10 points and a team-high nine rebounds, narrowly missing a double-double in his collegiate debut. Freshman Andy Stefonowicz racked up six assists to lead the Bison, while Feddersen added five to match his career-high.
Minot High alum, sophomore Darik Dissett played 21 minutes in the season opener. Dissett was 2-3 from the field with four points, one defensive rebound and one steal in the game.
NDSU shot 56.5 percent for the game and limited the Jimmies to 41-percent shooting. The Bison connected on 13-of-28 (46 percent) from three-point range. NDSU committed only five turnovers in the contest.
The Bison led 60-47 with 13:30 remaining before rattling off a 16-2 run over the next five minutes to go up 76-49.
The Bison host Illinois State on Thursday, November 7, and travel to CSU Bakersfield on Monday, November 11, for their next games.
